Katten Kabinet or the Cat Cabinet is an art museum located in the capital of Holland, Amsterdam, where visitors can find various works of art with main theme - the cat. The museum collections include paintings, drawings, sculptures and statues from artists such as Picasso, Leonore Fini, Corneille, Sal Meijer, Théophile Steinlen and Jože Ciuha. There is also a special hall where temporary exhibitions can be visited. This museum is housed in a 17th century historic building close to the canal. Amongst famous tenants of the house were Jan Calkoen, mayor of Amsterdam and John Quincy Adams – the sixth President of USA. The house was extensively renovated by its present owner in 1985 and became a home to the Katten Kabinet. This museum is closed on Mondays and on Queen's Day. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 16pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12am to 17 pm. Admission fee is € 5 for adults and € 2,50 for children (4 - 12 years). The museum offers discounts for groups.
Hard Rock Cafe
The Hard Rock Cafe was established in 1999 and is located near the Paradiso and Holland Casino. The Cafe offers seating on three levels as well as al fresco options and boasts a selection of rock memorabilia including guitars from Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix and Lenny Kravitz. Opening hours are from 11h00 to 24h00 daily, extended to 01h00 on Fridays and Saturdays. The kitchen closes half an hour earlier.
