Disneyland Park

This was the original theme park developed by Walt Disney in Anaheim, California, fifty years ago and was known simply as Disneyland until 1998. When it was first opened it had 16 attractions; now it has over 60. Transportation is provided by the Disney Railroad and the Monorail system. The accent of this park is providing fun for the whole family. Mickey and the rest of the Disney family are on hand to greet the guests. Attractions include the favourites Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, It's A Small World and The Enchanted Tiki Room. There are live stage shows, parades in the afternoon and evening and fireworks at night. Admission: Hours vary through the year. Single day ticket: Adults (10+) $59 Children (3-9) $49 Multiple day passes and tickets combined with entry to Disney's California Adventure are also available.

Disney's California Adventure

Disney's California Adventure

California Adventure is the second theme park at the Disneyland Resort. Opened in 2001 it is adjacent to the original Disneyland Park and in part recreates some well-known Californian landmarks. The overall intention was to create a more adult-themed park than Disneyland, including faster, scarier rides and shows designed for a more adult audience. There are a larger number of restaurants and unlike Disneyland Park, alcohol is served in the California Adventure. The park is divided into a number of themed lands: A Bug's Land, Golden State, Paradise Pier and Hollywood Pictures Backlot. The largest of the roller coasters is California Screamin' where the cars loop the loop through an outline of Mickey's head. There is also where the Tower of Terror can be found. Stage presentations include MuppetVision 3-D, It's a Bug's Life and Soarin' Over California. There are parades including, after dark, The Electric Parade (which has featured at DisneyWorld Florida and Disneyland Resort Paris in the past) Admission: Hours vary through the year. Single day ticket: Adults (10+) $59 Children (3 9) $49 Multiple day passes and tickets combined with entry to the Disneyland Park are also available.
