Not sure about this. Yes, it was handy to be on the doorstep of the NEC but it felt like a trap. Expensive restaurant, grim institutional feel and pokey room. Rather unsatisfying.

The room was like a prison cell. Small and un-touched in decades. One of those bathrooms that you can't close the door without standing in the loo.

The hotel feels like a giant confusing conference hotel, with funny little corridoors. Whoever designed this hotel has something to answer for. It does have a gym and swimming pool area that looked ok but on the whole....grim.

Ok, so the food was not all bad. I ate in the "Gastro-pub" (the shame) and it was fiendishly expensive but you are trapped on site. That said, it did taste ok. I wish there was a tab for value - it would be shocking. If I had not been so bushed I would have staged a rebellion and gone elsewhere...sucker.

Location next to the Birmingham International train station and the NEC are the only saving grace of this hotel.
