Fun and inexpensive New Year trip

A friend and I stayed here for 3 days over New Year. The staff were approachable and friendly, the hostel was in a clean enough state and there were lockers in the rooms to store your belongings. Officially there was no alcohol to be consumed within the hostel but this rule was understandably relaxed for New Year's Eve itself and there was a bit of partying going on. My friend, however, went to bed early but was still able to get a decent ...

Boston Common

Boston Common ist der älteste öffentliche Park Amerikas. Ursprünglich gehörte er William Blackstone, der 1622 nach Boston kam. Der Park an sich wurde zuerst als Gemeinschaftsweide für die Kühe der Stadtbewohner genutzt. Danach wurde der Park ein Trainingparcours für die Miliz und später ein Armeequartier der Britischen Armee, die Boston während des Unabhängigkeitskrieges besetzt hielt. Über viele Jahre wurden auf diesem Platz Feste gefeiert, Duelle ausgetragen und Reden gehalten, doch heute ist er ein ruhiger Platz inmitten der Innenstadt.
