Muzeul National de Etnografie si Istorie Naturala

Muzeul National de Etnografie si Istorie Naturala

National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History is the oldest museum in Chisinau and Moldova in general. It was founded in 1889 and there are about 135 000 exhibits in the museum, all of which were collected in the Republic of Moldova. Visitors can see what the flora and fauna of the country looks like presently and how it looked many years ago. There are also exhibition halls dedicated to the Ethnography of Moldova. Items shown in these halls introduce visitors to the local way of living. Here you can see how people lived in Moldova many years ago and you are introduced to local customs and traditions. The museum also has its own botanical garden. The museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00. daily, except on Mondays and official national holidays. Access to the museum is closed 1 hour before the closing of the museum. The entrance fee for an adult is about 5 lei (0.35 Euro). Photography and video is charged additionally. There is nearby public transport from different sectors of the city. There's no parking near the museum. Guides in Russian and Romanian are available, but for an English-speaking guide it is necessary to make a reservation.
