At the Office

As a young, growing company, new challenges and developments always arise. A routine job is a rare exception at trivago, if it even exists at all. One day you might work on selecting the actors for a TV spot in Brazil and the next day you may need to get your hands dirty with the translation of a press release. The following week could be all about a new feature for hoteliers to promote their properties on trivago. Working here means being part of a team that ranges from web developers to marketing experts. Working hours are rather flexible because results are what counts.
During lunchtime you will find many colleagues at our big table in the kitchen or in the comfortable sitting area on our sunny terrace, weather permitting. You'll also often find people looking to play a game on the Wii or a round of foosball. If you prefer to relax a little after eating, you could have a seat in our beach area. Fruit, cereal and drinks are always available free of charge.
People

In the past few months trivago has been expanding rapidly. We employ people from all over the world. In addition to the relatively large German, Spanish, French and Italian teams, we also have employees from other countries such as Greece, Brazil, Serbia, Romania, the US and many more! We are very proud of our national diversity because this makes up a big part of the pleasant atmosphere at trivago.
Not only do the different nationalities make trivago special, but also the fact that people with very different backgrounds work together. In our Cross-Functional teams we have people with a degree in business administration racking their brains over a task together with computer scientists.
Events
We take the mantra, “Work hard, play hard” to heart at trivago. Athletic activities like soccer and yoga, team events, breakfast meetings, barbecues and poker evenings are organized regularly, making your transition to working for trivago seamless and enjoyable. Working here, you are always welcome to suggest new activities or excursions - your idea may be the next team event!
Location
trivago's headquarters are located in Düsseldorf, Germany. Düsseldorf is the capital city of North Rhine-Westphalia and located right in the middle of the "Rhine-Ruhr" metropolitan area. With more than 10 million inhabitants, this area has an even bigger population than New York City. Its location makes Düsseldorf the perfect place to start discovering the Rhine-Ruhr region with its many interesting cities such as Cologne, Bonn, Duisburg, Essen and Dortmund. Having one of the biggest airports in Germany also makes it easy to visit international destinations.
The company office is found in Düsseldorf - Golzheim, very close to the Rhine river and right at the Theodor-Heuss-Bridge. Having a subway station right in front of the office also makes it very well-connected within Düsseldorf. Coming from Düsseldorf main station, it takes about 10min with the subway (U78 and U79 heading north).
Over the past few years, Düsseldorf has repeatedly been named as the city with the highest quality of life in Germany, which is not surprising because the city offers a wide range of leisure activities. From shopping on the Kö (Düsseldorf's most well-known avenue) and visiting one of the city's numerous movie theaters, to nights at the opera or our famous art galleries, there is always something to do here. You can also go for a walk along the river Rhine or in one of our beautiful parks. In the summer you can even sunbathe on a beach on the Rhine. And at night you can go partying on the world's so-called longest bar because the street has so many. Don't worry about finding a place for you to stay here, we will help you find an apartment in this popular city.
