Alastair Sawdays publishes recommendations on Special Places to Stay and includes the Caesar House in Rome. It is a "calm, comfortable oasis" where visitors can escape the "Roman din" whilst being close enough to view the forum "from a bedroom window". The location is great for "elegant cafés, shops and restaurants" and it's only a "five-minute stroll" to the Colosseum. The owners Guilia and Guiseppe are "charming" and "stylish" and both live on site where they run the hotel with family help from sister and grandma. On the second floor of the "ancient palazzo" the doors open to reveal "a huge, bright, welcoming space". The bedrooms are comfortably furnished with "red ceramic floors", "heavy curtains" and "every modern gadget" including air con, minibar, internet, safe and satellite TV. There's no breakfast room so guests eat in their rooms which are "big enough" or in "Giulia's living room". Service is "exemplary" and "thoroughly professional" and because Giulia "loves her guests" it's very "personal" too.
