A very good, comfortable hotel with great facilities, the best range of restaurants and superb beach club and spa. The hotel is ideal for families, very child friendly, but with plenty to keep the parents entertained and happy too.

The room is of a standard normal size, clean and well maintained. The bed is full king sized, large, with an exceptionally comfortable matress. There is tea and coffee making facilities, minibar, an iron and ironing board and a small safe. The view from my window was across the Corniche to the sea and the island just off the coast.

The bathroom was again standard sized but clean and well maintained. The shower was powerful, the water temperature easily controlled and there was a nice range of Crabtree and Evelyn toiletaries.

There is a nice, relaxing feel around the lobby area. At reception, complimentary iced lemon tea is available during the mornings, or Arabic coffee and dates in the afternoons. Nearby is a small shopping arcade, built to look like an old village street. The people have all been very pleasant and friendly and the service has always been excellent - on my second stay, one of the front desk staff remembered me from my previous visit when I was with the family and asked about the kids.

Within the hotel are various meeting or conference rooms of different sizes, a business centre, a well equipped fitness centre and a tiny outdoor pool. However the real relaxation is the beach club and spa, accessed through an underpass beneath the road.

The Hiltonia Beach Club has a large pool, a seperate splash pool with water slides, a children's play area, restaurant and of course a beautiful, white sanded beach with all the beach activities. The water is calm, but clean, I have seen tiny fish swimming just a few steps from the shore. Next to the Club is the Spa with another pool, another beach and of course a full range of spa facilities and treatments.

For wining and dining, there are over ten restaurants and bars giving plenty of variety of food. The main buffet restaurant has a range of international food, with various themed evenings. There is a Thai restaurant, an Italian and a Lebanese. There is a casual, outdoor restaurant at the Beach Club and a fine dining restaurant, Vasco's, next to the spa. Back at the hotel, Hemingways bar is very popular and busy in the evenings, or there is the Jazz Bar for the quieter night life. Both also serve bar food and snacks. There is also 24 hour room service. All of the food that I have had at the hotel has been top quality and tasty.
