According to the writer this recently refurbished hotel has a certain "quality" and an "impeccable" pedigree. The architecture comprises "roman pillars, medieval walls, a 16th-century private chapel and 18th-century frescoes". There is also a "spectacular, infinity-edged pool". However, the decor is described as "nothing special". Many of the guest rooms have "soul-stirring sea views" that can be viewed from "private terraces". Guests have the choice of dining at either the indoor "Caruso" restaurant with its "pretty patio" or the outdoor "Belvedere". At both restaurants the cuisine consists of "well-practised Italian staples", such as "delectably fresh seafood, light salads and pastas". The writer goes on to say that the service is "about as good as it gets for a new hotel".
