In order to get up to the top you take the peak tram which takes you up the mountain at a 90 degree angle the whole way. The best time to go is just before sunset when you can take pictures of the skyline in light and dark (try to get there at least half an hour before sunset otherwise the queues to get on the peak tram get really long) it costs around 3 pounds to get return ticket up to the peak and you can skip the queues if you use an Octopus Card (card which you use to travel on the MTR).

When you arrive at the top, it is quite a shock at first to see how many restaurants and shops have been built on the peak, they even have a mall and Madame Tussauds is also located at the top. The view however is spectacular, I personally think that it looks much better at night but it is definitely an experience that cannot be missed when in Hong Kong.
