The author Amrit Chima (Global Traveler Magazine, February 2007, P. 18) stayed was picked up at the airport in a "State-of-the-art-van" with "leather interior" and "three television screens". At the hotel, she was greeted with a "garland of frangipani flowers" and got a "cold cloth to wipe hands and face" and a "fruit cocktail" while she checked in. She rated check in and arrival at the hotel with 19 out of 20 points.
The room is described by the author as a "tasteful mix of modern French and Balinese island design" , the king size bed was for the authors taste "too firm". The atmosphere in the room was nice due to the "soft glow" of the paper lamps and the "cushioned bay-window seat" facing the "lily-padded garden pool". Each room has a "direct dial telephone, radio, cable television. and a private balcony".
The bathroom had a bathtub "made for only one person" and a "separate shower" with "two massage shower heads". She rates the room with 14 out of 15 points.
She describes the amenities of the hotel. The hotel's "three restaurants serve Thai, Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine". As a side note, she mentioned in her report that some villas have "private pools". She pointed out the Namaya Spa offering "both Indonesian massage therapy and western treatments". The only downside in the eyes of the author is the missing gym. Again she rates Amenities and Services with 44 out of 45 points
She "forgot the demands of (her) everyday life back home" while staying there and relaxing at the pool. The hotel had arranged a tour and staff was "exceedingly polite" and "smiled all day". She rates the experience of the hotel with 19 out of 20 points.
She closed her report that "this is the place to take all things easy" and rate it with 96 out of 100 points.
