Hotel Azzi is an ecological oasis in the very centre of Florence, in the picturesque pedestrian district of San Lorenzo. The property is a short walk from the central station and the Fortezza-Palaffari and only 5 minutes from Piazza Duomo.
The property is the typographer Barbera's old building, originally part of a 14th century convent that used to host wayfarers and pilgrims: this mix of culture and hospitality remains in the friendly, excentric and charming atmosphere.
The hotel is decorated with paintings made by Florentine artists who have stayed there, and special soirées, exhibitions and concerts are often organized.

Opened in 1948, Hotel Azzi has historical roots, owning the third oldest licence in Florence. It was originally part of a monastery which, since the 14th century, hosted travellers and pilgrims. Its combination of culture and hospitality has made it a favourite place for artists, writers, painters and theatre people.
Today Hotel Azzi is still a meeting point, a place for an exchange of information about whats on in town. Its a real pension, unique in its non-conventional look and yet its attention to detail and its friendly, original atmosphere. On the premises, decorated with paintings by artists who sojourned here, special evenings are often taking place, dedicated to art exhibitions and concerts: the owners are noted musicians and theatrical artists.
On the ground floor there are three suites of different colour, decorated with antique or particular furniture. One suite even has a jacuzzi!
On the first floor we have 12 large, bright rooms with private bathrooms, most of them facing a quiet courtyard. Each one is particular and different from one other; they are furnished with antique and vintage pieces.
