Summit Inn, just off Interstate 70, offers an ideal base for winter sport enthusiasts looking to explore the area. Copper Mountain, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and Breckenridge ski resorts are all less than 30 minutes from the hotel by car.

The rooms feature simple, cabin-style décor and offer cable television, a fridge and an en-suite bathroom. Wi-Fi is also available and rooms offer views of Lake Dillon or Buffalo Mountain.

If the weather’s too chilly, guests can warm up in the hot tub and sauna. Other amenities include a laundry and vending machine and the Summit Stage Bus stops right outside the hotel offering free travel to other parts of town.

The Wheeler Opera House looks back on a colourful history. Built in 1888/89 by Jerome B. Wheeler, an accident during the construction of the building caused the first hospital in town to be built. Later on it was devastated by fires and after the silver crush, when the prosperity of the town came to an end, it was used as a playground by children and used as a cinema. It has been totally refurbished and opened its doors again in 1984.Today the Wheeler Opera House shows perfotmances of superstars in the world of pop and pop, jazz, professional opera and ballet, theatre plays and broadway musical, is home to film festivals and a place where private and community events can happen.

Jimmys Restaurant and Bar is located centrally in downtown Aspen and he offers his guests "Fierce American Food". The menu includes steaks, chops and fresh seafood. As a dessert Jimmy offers his award winning Vulcano Cake and other sweet specialities. The bar offers its own menu for dining in a more casual atmosphere. There are TV's for watching a game and a well stocked bar, specialised in Tequila and Mezcal. They offer a selection of 67 Agave based drinks, but also Margaritas, Whiskeys, Rum's, international beers and more. Ever Saturday they host a Latin Dance Party in the Bar which starts at 10 pm and lasts until well after midnight.

The Crystal Palace has opened up in 1957 and is a satirical dinner theatre. Guests are entertained with a show about whatever is currently in the headlines, often political issues, and the waiters who'll serve the dinner are part of the show. The menu includes an entertaining variety of Appetizers, such as "Quail and Shitake Mushroom Wontons" and "Grilled Marinated Portobello". The Entrees are box office hits like "Grilled Tenderloin of Beef " or "Thai Spice Wild Salmon" and the encore is made of desserts such as "The 'Grand Finale' Meringue" and "Kick Ass N'Awlins Bread Pudding". Please note that appetizers, drinks and dessert are not included in the entrance fees and that reservation is highly recommended.

Arapahoe Basin is one of the oldest ski resorts in Colorado, its first lifts opened in 1946. It is the highest skiable terrain in the US and due to its location, with an average of 30 ft of snowfall per year, skiers can enjoy the season often from October to June. Arapahoe Basin offers 105 trails for all levels, for beginners there are ski schools available. The resort is served by 7 lifts which open at 8.30 in the morning. There are several shops, rental facilities for equipment, cafes and restaurants directly at Arapahoe, the closest facilities for accommodation can be found in Keystone. Vail Ski Resort has been voted best ski area in the United States fourteen of the last seventeen years. It is the largest ski area in the United States with 5289 acres. There are 34 lifts. The longest run is 4 miles. The area is broken down 18% beginner, 29% intermediate and 53% advanced and expert. Several of the lifts have a restaurant at the top of them. The area is open for skiing from about the middle of November to about the middle of April depending on snow conditions. Hours of operation run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the first half of the season and to 4 p.m. during the second half of the season. Different from most areas in that the ski area built the town. The town is located right off interstate 70. Vail is a year round resort with golf, hiking, horseback riding and other summer activities available during the summer. Adult mid season ticket price is $92 when bought at the window. However purchasing seven days in advance and internet purchases gain more favorable rates.

Aspen Ski Resort is comprised of four different adjacent mountains. Season varies by mountain; Snowmass (the largest) and Aspen Mountain (the oldest also known as Ajax) open about mid November through mid April; Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk open early December through early April. Ski-able terrain varies by mountain going from 470 acres for Buttermilk to 3132 acres for Snowmass. Lifts open at 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. Aspen Mountain is accessible from the center of town. Lift tickets are most affordable when purchased seven days in advance and on line. Denver is 220 miles away. Several nearby airports also provide access including Apsen/Pitkin county airport (3 miles from town) Eagle County (near Vail 70 miles from Aspen) and Denver for international flights.
