Sherbrooke Castle is a 3 star hotel located in Pollokshields on the south side of Glasgow just 3 miles from the city centre. This baronial villa was built in 1896 by John Morrison, designed by Thomson and Sandylands and is an example of late Victorian architecture. Set in landscaped gardens the hotel is just 15 minutes from Glasgow airport. Local attractions include the Burrell Collection, the House for an Art Lover and Bellahouston Park. The guestrooms have been recently refurbished and have been designed and finished to a high standard. All are en-suite and are equipped with TV, hospitality tray, toiletries, hairdryer and trouser press. The restaurant at the Sherbrooke Castle is called Morrison’s after the original owner and offers guests fresh local produce prepared to a high standard. The Lounge bar also serves a range of dishes with a special that changes daily. The bar is well stocked with a fine range of whiskies and beer. The hotel has several meeting rooms of different shapes and sizes with a selection of facilities available They can accommodate up to 200 people and staff are on hand to ensure you event runs smoothly.

    Edinburgh Zoo dates back to 1913 and is owned by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and was originally known as the Scottish National Zoological Park. It is located on Corstorphine Hill and overlooks the city of Edinburgh. Today the zoo provides a home for around 1,000 different animals and covers an area of 330,000 m2 (82 acres). It receives over 600,000 visitors every year, which makes it the second most visited tourist attraction in Scotland (that charges an admission fee), after Edinburgh Castle. The animals at Edinburgh Zoo include mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Many of the species are endangered and the zoo has a program that promotes the conservation of these threatened creatures. Edinburgh Zoo is open daily from 9am throughout the year (including Christmas Day), closing times vary during the year from between 4.30pm and 6pm. Admission prices for adults are £14.00 (18 Euros) and £9.50 (11 Euros) for children aged 3-15.
