Hexham Abbey Grounds is part of the Hexham Parks complex, a large landscaped public space in the centre of the Northumberland market town. The Abbey Grounds were sold to the town in 1912. Many parts of the perimeter show signs of the old town walls and the outbuildings of the Abbey itself. There are two entrances from Beaumont Sreet which have ornamental gates and the town's war memorial stands inside. Two commemorative oak trees celebrate the Royal Forestry Society which was founded here and there is a cast iron bandstand which was installed in 1912.
