Hotel Fifu is located in a quiet area just outside the city of Jaisalmer just 4km from Jaisalmer airport. The Fifu is built in the style of an old traditional Haveli or courtyard house. Hotel Jeetmahal has 6 lovely rooms, and is in a great location just outside the Fort gates, and is very close to markets and main attractions in Jaisalmer. The hotel is an old heritage building which was built in the first decade of the eighteenth century by Jeetmal Bissa, who served as an architect at the Royal Palace of Jaisalmer. He surprisingly constructed this fabulous Haveli in his spare time, when he was not required to attend the Royal Palace. The haveli has jharokhas of exquisite carvings and this heritage haveli still has a wonderful atmosphere of old Jaisalmer.
Hotel Mandir Palace Jaisalmer
This large heritage property is an excellent example of historical architecture and the stone and wood carvings are remarkable. The most remarkable feature of the hotel is a tower which is known as Badal Vilas and and stretches 50 meters into the sky. This landmark can be seen from almost anywhere around town. The hotel is quite large although it has only a few rooms. The fort gate is about 15 minutes walk down the street and there are a couple of good restaurants down the street. The expansive roof is strikingly large and makes a great spot to enjoy the local views. There are two small Hindu temples on the property and this adds certain flair to the place.
Hotel Gorbandh Palace Jaisalmer
Built in 1992 this place has some beautiful grounds and stylish friezes that make for a distinctive style and feel for the hotel. Gorbandh actually means a type of harness that desert women make and decorate for their husband's camel. Bedspreads are a nice centerpiece to the rooms, decorated in camel print and simple images. The restaurants are decent and the swimming pool is a good place to relax and pass the time. The tour desk can arrange horseback riding, camel and jeep safaris, and lots more.
