Hotel Kilwa Beach Lodge Kilwa Masoko
The newly built lodge is set in a sheltered bay on what is locally described as the “beach of beaches”. The sand is white, the water warm and the palms shady - a perfect tropical beach destination.
The 10 acre former coconut plantation, has only 7 rooms, including Africa's first superadobe eco-room - constructed using NASA building technology prepared for moon landings. All our rooms are a few metres from the swimming safe, warm Indian Ocean and are designed to maximise the warm, tropical breeze that blows on the beach for 22 hours per day.
It is situated in southern Tanzania and here we work closely with the Kilwa people in a variety of community projects, including a scientific research station and promotion of ancient Kilwa - our nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site - the Kilwa Kisiwani Ruins!
