Hospitality at its best! Suites are spacious and immaculate some with balconies and a wonderful view of the "heads". Located in a residential area but about 5 minutes from shopping ,restaurants and activities.Ross recommended "Firefly" as an evening restaurant and it will will likely surprise you with food and service,in a good way. Perfection! We look forward to returning.

We had high expectations from the website, but from the moment we arrived until leaving, we enjoyed one "WOW" moment after another! The address of Villa Afrikana is called Paradise. Ross & Bianca have certainly lived up to that standard. We think of their beautiful home as "African Chic". Every view, every room has features the spectacular Knysna lagoon. The style of their home is very bright, yet warm. Ross, Bianca and their attentive staff ...

About a year ago my friends asked me to join them on a magical and rather extreme trip, I answered there question and said where to? And when they told me they were going to South Africa, there was no doubt at all... I joined So we saved up our money and finally booked our tickets and ended up in Knysna last summer. We had arranged that someone could pick us up at the airport, but I never knew that the Owner, Mr Ross, of the hotel would pick ...
Best Hotel/Guest House on the garden Route!
Reviewed October 2009 by extravel
From the pictures we’d seen, and the reports we’d heard, we knew Villa Afrikana was going to be special. This really was the highlight of our trip. The location on the hill (in Paradise) provides glorious views of the heads and is perfectly located to allow exploration of all the areas in Knysna. The décor-magazine interiors are white, unspoiled and evoke a sense of calm with just a little bit of glamour and as soon as we met the hosts, we ...

  • Cango Caves

    Cango Caves

The Cango Caves are situated along the Garden Route, 29 km outside of Oudtshoorn at the end of the Cango Valley. The Cango Caves, which have been known to men since the Bronze Age, were officially discovered in 1780. Within the 4 km long cave system there is a constant temperature of 18 degrees. For your visit to the caves you can choose between a standard tour and an adventure tour. Both tours lead you through chambers such as the Van Zyl's Hall where you can see the stalactites that have been named dried tobacco leaves of Oudtshoorn due to their resemblance to tobacco leaves that are hung up to dry, the Botha's room, Throne room and others with equally interesting features. The adventure tour leads you through the standard tour and then continues on a more challenging route with features such as a 200 step ladder , the Tunnel of Love which needs to be crawled through and is only 30 cm wide at one point. The exit route of this tour is the 27 cm high Leopard Crawl that leads you to the Devil's Post Box. Facilities on site include a restaurant, a curio shop, an interpretative centre and a tourist information centre.

The same time you will learn about the birds and their habits, will be allowed to feed them and watch an ostrich race.
