Westminster Cathedral is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church in Britain. It was designed by architect John Francis Bentley in an Early Christian Byzantine style and completed in 1903. The Changing of the Guard
The Changing of the Guard (properly called "Guard Mounting") takes place in two locations in Central London. The most well known is the change over of the foot guards on sentry duty outside Buckingham Palace accompanied by a military band. The second ceremony is that of the mounted cavalry units at Horse Guard's Parade. Full dress uniforms are worn. The Queen's Gallery Buckingham Palace
Situated where there once was a private chapel at Buckingham Palace, the gallery exhibits a number of art treasures which are "held in trust by The Queen for the Nation" and includes items of jewellery and furniture. There are a number of rooms for lectures and events, as well as a multimedia room where additional information about the exhibits is provided. The Queen's Gallery is open daily from 10:00-17:30 with last admissions at 16:00. Facilities for disabled patrons are provided and there are various workshops and activities during school holidays and on weekends.
