The author, Caroline Major describes how this hotel is situated in a vibrant part of Melbourne called South Yarra. It is in a tree-lined street and that she finds it to be a "chic, comfortable and home-style 5 hotel" with character. She states that there are 40 suites, each with kitchen, mini-lounge, fireplace, air-conditioning, under-floor heating and that there is also an "extensive mini-bar". She does however write that the 24 hr room service is sadly lacking in "personality and efficiency" while the hotel bar is "big" on sparkling wines and champagnes.
