La rue Montenapoleone est à Milan ce que la rue Montaigne est à Paris ; c'est LA rue de la mode où tous les grands couturiers y ont boutique : Dior, Armani, Prada, Gucci etc.... Cette rue se situe dans ce que l'on appelle le ""quadrilatère d'or"" tant les boutiques luxueuses y sont nombreuses. Elle se situe en plein coeur historique de Milan.

Viktor & Rolf, célèbres stylistes néerlandais ouvrent en 2005 à Milan, via Sant 'Andrea, la rue de la Mode, une boutique, qui attire les nombreux touristes et amateurs à la fois de mode et de design. Cette adresse, recommandée dans certains guides, ne laisse pas indifférent le promeneur. La réalisation en revient à l'architecte Siebe Terrero et à Sherrie Zwail de SZI Design. Il s'agit d'une boutique de style néo-classique portant la particularité d'être entièrement conçue la tête en bas. On y pénètre par un couloir central, qui sépare deux espaces par des colonnes, le tout dans les tons de gris-beige. Le plancher de chêne est collé au plafond, tout comme le paillasson, ainsi que la cheminée et ses bûches, et les chaises. Dans la vitrine, un lustre semble sortir du sol.... Il faut y entrer pour en être étourdi...... Les deux vendeuses ont l'habitude de voir défiler ainsi des curieux pas forcément acheteurs mais rien n'empêche le visiteur de jeter un coup d'oeil sur les vêtements rangés dans les penderies.
