The ruins of Troy incorporate the excavations of 9 different levels of which the earliest goes back until 3000 BC. It is believed that 9 different cities have been situated on the site which is also known under the names Troia, Tros or Illium.
Troy has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can explore the ruins and visit the archaeological museum.
