[11/06/2007] The author who's calling herself Miffy is telling us that this hotel has a great location with the subway on the doorstep. According to Miffy the hotel is situated with good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the Manhattan Mall and not far away there are "lots of other subway lines".
The hotel itself is not in the best condition but Miffy's saying "it is nothing major in my opinion" and there are some nice features such as "extremely impressive chandeliers" and it's got "Art Deco style".
The writer's room "was very small" but again not a massive problem. The bathroom was old but "kept very clean" and the bedroom "was a bit dated" but clean in Miffy's opinion. The air condition was "unbelievably noisy" and the renovations outside were even noisier and a bit annoying since the curtain "didn't draw very well" so Miffy and her friend had to get dressed in the bathroom.
"In fairness" there were signs explaining the renovation and it was "not a problem for overnight sleep".
The writer's telling us about the "Tick Tock Diner". "The food was fine" bit they found the staff a bit unfriendly. Miffy's telling us about another diner across the street that's worth a visit.
Miffy's ending the review by rating the hotel as "average", the location is good and if "you just want the room to sleep in" it's good enough.
