[more]The Longaberger Basket Building in Newark is recognized as the world's largest basket and houses the corporate headquarters of the Longaberger Basket Company The 180,000-sq-ft building is situated on 25 landscaped acres and provides office space for 500 employees. The structure is an oversized replica of the company's trademark medium market basket. Two supersized handles meet above the roof to complete the illusion of a giant basket. The interior of the 7-story building consists of a 30,000-sq-ft atrium that is flooded by natural light by means of a large skylight. The Basket Building opened its doors in December 1991 and is open to the public. Admission is free.
