The history of the hotel dates back to 1858 when it was opened by Queen Victoria but all of the rooms have recently been refurbished and now feature all of the latest amenities that one would expect to find in a 3 star hotel. There are 144 rooms all of which feature a private bathroom, direct dial telephone, writing desk, TV, hairdryer and high speed Internet access.
For business travellers there are 10 conference rooms, the largest of which can hold 200 delegates. The hotel also has its own Leisure Club, with an indoor swimming pool, steam room and Jacuzzi.
