Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge

The Moulin Rouge first opened its doors in 1889. After a couple of years of reputable balls, the Cabaret became famous world wide largely due to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's "French Cancan" in 1891. The line up of dancers to perform this dance require great agility and professionalism. Each girl is carefully selected in function of her age, silhouette and dancing skills. Dancers from the whole world dream of being a Cancan dancer. Until the first world war, the cabaret was mostly devoted to operettas. It was only in 1951 when Georges France bought the Moulin Rouge that it was re-transformed, into Paris' most sought after nightly events. Today over 100 artists perform, with over 1000 extravagant costumes. Laurent Tarridec is the famous chef who proposes top quality lunches and dinners. The cheapest menu and show here costs 150€, and a show without meal or drinks costs 90€. The cabaret also hosts congresses, seminars, galas, fashion parades, TV casts, press conferences and more.
