Reviews Crown Metropol Perth
I expected more with Crown!
Reviewed January 2014 by trivago traveler
Im kids and I go camping each Xmas eve, 4/5 star hotel, jump on the bed, room service, air conditioning, pool...my kinda camping! With the exception of the foyer, (a large xmas tree and deer in lights) there was no reflection of xmas. The room reflected nothing of the season, there was no season advertising of events. The room is all glass, mirror, gold, and black shiny walls, quite a 70s style and shimmer. To its credit the room was ...

  • Valley of the Giants

    Valley of the Giants

Located approximately 30 minutes drive west of Denmark and 20 minutes from Walpole, the Valley of the Giants derives its name from the large red tingles trees which populate the area. In order for people to experience the trees close up without damaging the root systems, a boardwalk route was installed. Later the tree top walk was also added, enabling visitors to experience canopy walks. The Valley of the Giants is open daily throughout the year except for Christmas Day and also closes during extreme weather conditions. Opening times are from 9am to 5pm, with the last ticket being sold at 4.15pm. Admission fees are: adult - $8 child 6-15yrs - $4 family (2 adult & 2 children) - $22 concession - $6.

  • Nambung National Park

    Nambung National Park

Nambung National Park surrounds the Nambung River and the town of Cervantes. It's landmark attraction is the Pinnacles, but it is a large park and includes a stretch of coastline, which include beaches and dune systems. There are several deserts, including the Red and White ones near the Pinnacles and the Painted Desert further South. At each end of the park there are nature reserves. Besides exploring the Pinnacles, other attractions include wildflower watching, picnicking, swimming, fishing and snorkelling. Other attractions which can be reached a few kilometres from the park entrance are Kangaroo Point and Hangover Bay. Both have picnic areas, gas barbecues and Kangaroo Point has toilets. Facilities at the park are barbecues, information panels, tables and toilets. There are no camping areas in the national park but accommodation and other services are available in Cervantes The park is about three hours drive from Perth city centre and the entrance is off Cervantes Road, which runs off Brand Highway. It attracts visitor a year round in fine weather, although the best season is said to be during September and October when the wildflowers are blooming.
