Hotel Northbridge

Description

The 4-star Hotel Northbridge is a unique heritage-listed property steeped in history, originally built in 1898. The hotel was established during the boom of the gold prospecting era with proceeds from the discovery of one of Western Australia’s largest gold nuggets named the ‘Golden Eagle’. Originally renowned as the ‘Royal Standard’, providing travelers and local patrons a place of comfort, rest and recreation. Visitors enjoyed 18th Century hospitality, whilst their faithful equine steeds would be tendered by on-site stable hands, ready for another hard days travel. In November 1999, the owner and developer completed his innovative vision of restoring the Hotel’s heritage-listed features including the resurrection of the original balcony. Alongside this, was the opportunity to implement a unique and exciting modern 4-star accommodation facility. A bold step was made, keeping the leisure and business traveler in mind, the Hotel Northbridge proudly introduced a true boutique style hotel. Incorporating luxury facilities which include a double corner spa in every room, the hotel boasts 48 Superior rooms, function facilities, bar and restaurant.

The Bell Tower - Home of the Swan Bells

The Bell Tower - Home of the Swan Bells

The award-winning Bell Tower is one of the largest musical instruments in the world and home to a precious Millennium gift to the people of WA, 18th century bells from London’s famous church, St Martin-in-the-Fields. The only set of royal bells known to have left England, these ancient bells were rung to signal the end of the Battle of Trafalgar, again at Lord Nelson’s funeral, and to welcome back Captain Cook after charting Australia. The Bell Tower is the only location in the world where you can view the ancient art of Change Ringing and the bell movement simultaneously. From the Tower’s Observation Deck you can see to the Darling ranges, across the stunning Swan River, into the city and up to the famed Kings Park. It is truly a unique experience.
