Grenada Carnival

Karneval in Grenada bedeutet viele bunte Farben, Musik, Steelbands und jede Menge Party. Er findet immer am erst Wochenende im August statt und dauert dann über eine Woche. Es gibt überall auf der Insel Veranstaltungen in diesem Zeitraum, aber die größten und wichtigsten finden in der Hauptstadt St. George´s statt. Es gibt einen Kinderkarneval, eine Karnevalsparade mit vielen bunt gekleideten Gruppen und Musikwagen. Und es gibt den J'ouvert der sehr früh am Montagmorgen stattfindet und bei dem eine schwarz bemalte Menschenmasse durch die Strassen zieht und versucht auch die Zuschauer mit schwarzer Farbe zu beschmieren.
