During the Easter holidays last year, 2008, I went on a trip to Italy with the school. We visited sites in Rome and the Bay of Naples, all of which were fantastic and breath-taking. The Colosseum was one of my favourites, though.
I am very interested in classical history and the trip was organised by my schools Classical Studies department so I got to visit loads of historic sites, like Pompeii, the forum in Rome and Herculaneum. I enjoyed visiting all of these places because, although I studied Classical Studies at the time, I was doing the standard grade course, in which we are only taught about Pompeii, Athens and Homer's the Odessey. This meant that everything was new to me and I loved every moment of it - all the stunning scenes and interesting landmarks and, most importantly, the educational aspect of everything.
The Colosseum was my favourite because I loved learning about Pompeii's amphitheatre and actually being able to learn about the Colosseum by visiting it was brilliant. In my personal opinion, it is excellent and anyone who has the chance should definately visit it. They have added a little gift shop which I think is a nice touch as I always like seeing what unnecessary rubbish (sorry, souveniers) they have to offer. Fortunately, I was able to get some postcards from it so it wasn't a complete waste of 15 minutes of shopping.
The one thing I hated about the Colosseum was the queing. I had to wait for 20 minutes just to get into the place and I was with a group so we were in a line that was moving faster. I would hate to go back on my own to see it.
It was a great day, though. I couldn't find my camera that day so I didn't get to take many photos. On the bright side, I'm going back with the school next year and we'll be going to the same sites so I'll get a chance to take plenty of pictures and upload them here the next time round. I have some pictures but they were from a disposable camera I bought on the day so there not that great!
Overall, I loved my trip to the Colosseum and can't wait to go back. : )

I have not commented on Budget Friendliness because when I was there I didn't have to pay! I have game Condition 70% because it had scaffolding when I saw it (although this may be gone now). They were doing some "minor repairs" according to my teacher.
