Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti or the Spanish steps are a set of stairs in Rome conecting a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti. This stairwell was built in 1723–1725 and there area total of 138 steps. The stairwell was designed by Francesco De Sanctis and Alessandro Specchi. The recommended forms of transport to the Spanish steps are bus or subway, the nearest stop being in Spagna. There are no parking facilities if you bring your own car. There are no restrooms on site but there are restaurants and cafes nearby and drinks are available on site. The Spanish steps are not wheelchair accessible.
