Being "steeped in legend and history", for Frommers the Goldener Hirsch is the finest hotel in Salzburg and so it comes as no surprise, that it has been rated as "exceptional". The Hotel is located in "an enviable position" directly in the Old Town, and Mozart's birthplace is just "a few doors away". It consists of three adjoining "medieval townhouses" that have been connected with a "labyrinth of rustic hallways and staircases".
