Hotel Tenuta la Bandita Sassetta
Situated in the Alta Maremma area of Tuscany, Villa la Bandita is a property of 55 hectares and extends along the hills above the Val di Cornia. It is a few kms from the historic and picturesque villages of Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri and the beaches of Marina di Castagneto and San Vincenzo (Costa degli Etruschi Etruscan Riviera) which front the collection of islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. It is truly a magic place, characterised by the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean juxtaposed with vineyards and olive groves.Our main Villa, dating back to the 18th century, has been recently transformed into an elegant and quite Country House containing 10 unsuited bedrooms. Another 14 rooms are to be fond in two adjacent depandance La Foresteria and Gli Ulivi. All rooms are appointed with original period furniture, chandeliers, matching drapes and bed spreads and differ from one another in terms of lay out and decor. Guests can lounge on the front terrace or in the spacious arched living room downstairs with greystone fireplace and framed portrait paintings. The furnishings, paintings and antiques provide the warm feeling of a luxury country house. All rooms are equipped with: TV, telephone,safebox,minibar,wireless and hair dryer.A Restaurant is situated in the main Villa. The cuisine serves to illustrate the traditions of Tuscany cooking and meals are prepared with biological produce grown on the estate. Wines of the highest quality are also available to guests, as the property is situated in the heart of one Italys most famous wine districts and includes such luminaries as Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Grattamacco. Villa la Bandita is a member of the Consorzio Strada del Vino, Italys wine association. Visits to wineries and olive oil mills can be arranged as well as cookery lessons. A Swimmingpool and Tennis court for your enjoyment.Historical townsmedieval villages close by include: Suvereto (15 km), Massa Marittima (40 km), Campiglia Marittima (20 km), Populonia important Etruscan ruins (30 km), Volterra (45 km), San Gimignano (60 km), Pisa (75 km), Piombino port for vehicular ferries to the island of Elba (40 km), Bolgheri-famous avenue of cypresses and WWF reserve (15 km), Siena (95 km).
