Estadio Vicente Calderón
Das Vincente Calderon Stadion, Heimatstadion des Fußballclubs Atletico Madrid, liegt sehr zentral direkt am Fluss Manzanares.
Es ist einfach mit der Metro (Station Marqués de Vadillo o Pirámides) oder mit dem öffentlichen Bus zu erreichen.
Genau am Stadion führt auch die Ringautobahn M-30 vorbei, dennoch sollte man auf eine Anfahrt mit dem eigenen Auto verzichten, da Parkplätze bei Großveranstaltungen Mangelware sind.
Das Stadium hat ein Fassungsvermögen von 54.851 Zuschauern und ist von der UEFA in die 5 Sterne Kategorie aufgenommen worden, es genügt damit höchsten Ansprüchen und kann auch Austragungsort von Europapokalfinalen sein.
Obwohl es als das modernste Fußballstadium der Welt gilt, unterschrieb Atletico Madrid im Juli 2007 einen Vertrag, der den Abriss beschließt Hintergrund ist der Umzug des Vereins in das Peineta Stadion im Zuge der Vorbereitungen auf die olympischen Sommerspiele 2016.
Parque de Atracciones de Madrid
The Parque de Atracciones has over 40 attractions and rides, with something for every visitor. It is divided into 5 zones: Machinery, Tranquility, Nature, Kids and Gran Avenida. Zoo Aquarium de Madrid
Madrid Zoo and Aquarium has a comprehensive collection of creatures of all kinds from all over the world. There are more than 6,000 animals representing 500 species in an area of 20 hectares which can accommodate up to 3,000 visitors. As well as the animal compounds there is an aquarium, a dolphinarium and areas for exotic birds and birds of prey. The coral display is considered one of the most impressive in Europe.
Special displays are mounted featuring the dolphins, the birds of prey, and the parrots. For younger children there is a farm of domestic animals which the children can stroke. A speciality over the summer months are the Zoo Nights when the zoo stays open until midnight and nocturnal guided visits and displays are organised.
