Hotels VanDusen Botanical Garden Vancouver
The VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver takes its name from the local philanthropist Whitford Julian Van Dusen. It is located in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood of the city and covers an area of 55 acres. It first opened to the public on 30 August 1975.
The park is managed by the Vancouver Park Board who charge an admission fee to enter it. Facilities within the park include a restaurant, a book shop and a seed library. Throughout the park there are good quality footpaths that are lined with carved totem poles and the vast number of plants on display includes a large collection of Rhododendrons.

The Vancouver Aquarium is located within Stanley Park where it occupies a 2.1 acre site (9,000 m²). Its history dates back to 1956 and it is now run by a non profit making organisation. Today the aquarium is a major tourist attraction in the city but also serves as a marine research centre and also as a part of a conservation program that helps release animals back into their natural habitat.
The main aquarium contains 166 different displays and in addition to this there are numerous themed galleries. These galleries are regionalised and include Artic Canada, the Wild Coast, Pacific Canada and Treasures of the British Columbia Coast. In addition to this there are also galleries from further a field including the tropic Zone and Amazon rainforest.
Examples of animals that can be found in the aquarium include dolphins and beluga whales.
This attraction is accessible for disabled visitors and a limited number of wheelchairs are available for loan on a first come first served basis. Facilities include toilets, a café and a gift shop.
