These woods shelter such protected species as the roe deer, the eagle, the hare, the wild boar or the partridge.In the surrounding area, the tourist can also enjoy the sights and activities at the Ermal Dam, a magnificient mountain lake, where the preservation of the environment is a matter of pride, not allowing any type of motor water sports. The artificial lake itself, surrounded by dense woods, provides the visitor with an excellent spot for fishing, canoeing and sailing, or simply relaxing on its clean, wonderful shores and beach.Open air activities such as mountaineering, trekking, mountain biking or off-road circuits are also available all across forest tracks, roads and paths in Cabreira Mountain.The Cottage has 2 kayaks and 4 mountain bikes at the tourist's disposal. Pedestrian walks both in cabreira and Gerês Mountains can be arranged.
