The Robberg Peninsula Nature Reserve is located on an area of coastline approximately 8 kilometres south of Plettenberg Bay. The area comprises of a rocky headland surrounded by the ocean on three sides. It provides an important habitat for a variety of birds, plants, mammals and marine life.
Three different circular hiking routes cover the area, the longest of which will take about 4 hours to complete. It is recommended that care is taken along all routes as the area can be especially dangerous at high tide.
In order to preserve the area there are a number of regulations in place that include a maximum speed of 20 km/ph for vehicles, fires are prohibited outside designated areas and marine fishing is only possible via a permit.
