City Hall Port Elizabeth
The City Hall of Port Elizabeth was built in between 1858 and 1862 and is home to the City Council's Chamber. The clock tower of the colonial style building is a later addition and dates from 1883. The building was destroyed during a fire in 1977 and has been totally reconstructed since. Within the city hall you can also find a hall that is used for concerts and other events . The Dias Cross, which was a present from the Portuguese government and is a replica of cross dedicated to the Saint George can be seen here. The City Hall overlooks the large market square of Port Elizabeth where a street market is being held regularly .
Seal Point Lighthouse
Dating from 1878, this 28 meter high masonry lighthouse offers guided tours between 09h00 and 16h15 Mondays to Fridays. Facilities include a tearoom and curio shop and there is also a marine and wildlife rescue centre. The lighthouse is a National Monument and offers many opportunities for birdwatching and enjoying the local fauna and flora.
Seaview Game & Lion Park
Open daily between 9h00 and 17h00 with lion feeding displays at 12h00 on Sundays, the Seaview Game & Lion Park features a selection of more than 40 wildlife species which can be viewed during a self-drive excursion. Facilities include a curio shop and African theme restaurant as well as various walks and picnic options. The boma can be rented for private functions and caravan and camping facilities are available adjacent to the Park.
