All the rooms are individually designed in different styles (Colonial, Victorian and French Provençal). The hotel is accessible for wheelchairs. We offer extra customized services to make your stay even more pleasant. A hotel to be experienced, the Etxegana Country Hotel is charmingly located in the Gorbeia Nature Park. It is surrounded by lovely natural gardens. Rooms at the Rural Etxegana come with en suite bathrooms, with hydromassage baths. There are 7 suites, 10 double rooms and 1 single room, although more beds are available if necessary. Admire the rooms' individual themed designs, including the Colonial, Victorian and French Provençal styles. Each room has handmade wooden details. The building has traditional, natural materials. These include brick and stone walls and wooden ceiling beams. The living room is decorated with lovely Italian tapestries and mahogany furniture from the Tudor and Steward Periods. Zeanuri is well known for hikers, who gather there to begin the climbing of the mount Gorbea, Bizkaia?s highest top (1481 m), crowned by the 18 meter cross that León XIII had built to celebrate the coming of the 20th century. Today, the mountain is home for sheep flocks, potokas or Basque horses, deers, wild boars etc. In the neighborhood, you can also visit Neolithic sites, the Mairulegorreta Cave, the areas of Pagomakurre, Arratia or Duranguesado, all part of an ancestral itinerary that connects ancient Basque naturalistic and pagan beliefs with Lamina, Akerbeltz or jaun Zuria, amongst others, which, after Christianity were said to be land of witches and akelarres. Zeanuri holds a rich heritage of ?caserios? (traditional Basque country houses), the Axpe Palace and different chapels such as San Lorenzo, Santa Agueda, San Blas or San Andrés, as well as the churches of Santiago and Andra Mari (10th century).
