Positive Reviews

Seafront location was hard to beat

Reviewers overwhelmingly said Aberdovey seafront was a lovely place to be. This property's location in the village centre near dining options, amenities and the water's edge was hard to beat for many guests as it also offered superb views across the Dovey estuary. There were high quality sandy beaches just a short stroll away. Non-motorists appreciated the easy access to Penhelig and Aberdovey railway stations for car-free exploration of the stunning Snowdonia National Park.

Praise for rooms, rates and fantastic views

Guests were glowing about the great coastal views across the harbour and estuary which some rooms enjoyed. Many said the rooms were bright, spacious, clean and comfortable, often adding that they were tastefully decorated. There was also praise for many of the bathrooms for being spacious and stylish. Considering the room rates were pretty reasonable, plenty of reviewers said it was decent value for money.

Friendly staff and popular food

Many diners enjoyed the cooked breakfasts and pub food, adding that families were well catered for. Customer service was described as good with personnel often called welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Negative Reviews

Occasional parking headaches

Parking nearby was a bit tricky in the village centre during peak season, some motorists reported. However, there were off-street public car parks within walking distance.

Claims some rooms had shortcomings

Although many guests liked the rooms, there were critics who claimed there were certain rooms which were basic or tired-looking compared to others. A few maintenance issues also bothered some critics. These included occasional interruptions to the hot water supply and peeling paintwork.

Noise bothered some light sleepers

Noise from corridors and adjacent rooms sometimes disturbed light sleepers as did the sound of occasional traffic from the road outside or noise from the bar in certain rooms.
