Positive Reviews

Handy roadside location with good transport links

The location of this new-build hotel on the outskirts of Ayr in southern Scotland won praise from guests as it was easily accessed by car from the A77. Drivers loved the free parking and said it was straightforward to reach golf courses, beaches, beauty spots, museums and Ayr town centre for shopping, dining and the railway station. There were also bus stops a short walk away and it was easy to get to Glasgow Prestwick Airport and regional ferry terminals by car. Another bonus was that there were eateries just steps away. There was also praise for the proximity of a supermarket and petrol stations.

Upbeat about customer service

Travellers were overwhelmingly impressed with the customer service provided by friendly, obliging and welcoming members of staff who had good local knowledge. Check-in was reportedly quick too.

Popular updated rooms were affordable

The redesigned rooms with flat-screen TVs and king-size beds proved popular with reviewers. Many had a pleasant stay, describing their rooms as clean, tidy and spacious. The cosy beds also won praise. Budget-conscious visitors generally felt they got good bang for their buck thanks to the usually competitive room rates.

Negative Reviews

Mixed feelings about Wi-Fi

Guests appreciated the free access to the Wi-Fi network. However, there was criticism of the way the free access was only offered for a limited period after which guests had to pay for continued use.

Nuisance noise reported

Light sleepers occasionally reported that they were disturbed by nuisance noise travelling through thin walls from adjacent rooms and corridors.

Rooms were too barebones for some

Some critics called for additional facilities to be provided in the rooms such as extra seating, fridges and hairdryers. However, hairdryers and ironing equipment were available on request from reception.
