About Gasthaus Linde

Gasthaus Linde is a rustic guest house in a small village on the edge of Germany’s northern Black Forest – ideal for visiting the spa town of Baden-Baden, just eight kilometres away.

There is a mixture of room types available for different group make ups, including singles, double, triples, quadruples and two-bedroom family rooms. Each contains a flat-screen television with cable channels and an en-suite bathroom.

Gasthaus Linde offers free parking and complimentary Internet access on the Wi-Fi network. The hotel also incorporates a terrace and event space for meetings and celebrations.

The traditional restaurant is used exclusively to cater for special functions of up to 200 people. There is, however, a traditional German restaurant, Romerkeller, just 800 metres away.

Baden Airport is just 12 kilometres from the accommodation and the French city of Strasbourg, over the other side of the Rhine, can be reached in 45 minutes by car.

Positive Reviews

Decent large rooms

Many guests form initial perceptions of the rooms prior to arrival, based on photos the hotel has put online. They figure though that this is a great shame as the images do not to the give justice at all. In reality the rooms are a lot more attractive. They are a pretty good size too, and kept spotlessly clean.

Good breakfast

Guests are also very satisfied with the quality of the breakfast spread laid out each morning. There is a nice selection of traditional German foods, including hams and cheeses, served in a quaint breakfast room.

Value for money

Reviews suggest that as the hotel is situated a few kilometres outside of Baden-Baden its rates are comparatively cheap compared to those in the centre. There is also the advantage of ample free parking and a quiet environment.

Negative Reviews

Not as central as expected

Many guests feel quite deceived when they discover that the hotel is not in Baden-Baden at all, as they had been led to believe. It is not even within walking distance. They cannot therefore make use of the many nice restaurants and shops in the centre, with local alternatives few and far between.

Difficult to get online

The hotel’s Wi-Fi system is not found to be very practical. Guests are irritated to have to follow a complicated initial procedure to create an account, then to find that connection is at best sporadic, and usually very slow.

No air conditioning

Those travelling in the warmer months note that the rooms here do not feature air conditioning, resulting in hot and stuffy interiors.
