Positive Reviews

Handy location for exploring the town on foot.

Guests were pleased to report that they were just a short stroll away from the centre of town with its shops, bars and restaurants as well as the waterfront. Many local landmarks and attractions are moments away from the property which meant that guests did not need to use their cars for the duration of their stay.

Clean and comfortable rooms.

The majority of the guests said that their rooms were clean with equally hygienic bathrooms. Many appreciated the fact that their rooms were serviced thoroughly by the housekeeping on a daily basis. Guests said they  had everything they needed in their en-suites for a pleasant stay including comfortable beds and powerful showers.

Friendly and hospitable staff.

The staff have been described as being friendly and willing to assist the guests with any issues that they had. The owners were also said to be often on hand offering helpful tips and advice to the guests about where to dine in the local area and what places of interest to visit.

Negative Reviews

Dated interiors.

Guests were disappointed the find that the decor of their rooms was rather tired as many objected to the stains on the ceilings and marks on the walls as well as the rather old-fashioned pieces of furniture. The upholstery was also described as rather tatty and in need of replacement.

Some rooms noisier than others.

The building overlooks a rather busy road and guests whose rooms were located at the front said they were often disturbed by traffic noise which prevented some from getting a good night's sleep.

Tiring climb to the rooms.

There is no elevator on the premises and guests who had rooms on the third floor said they found the daily climb to their accommodation quite tiring.
