Positive Reviews

Scenic location close to Yosemite.

Guests report that the resort is situated in a scenic location with plenty of mountains and forest greenery on show. Guests also point out that the resort is conveniently positioned for those looking to visit Yosemite National Park, the entry to which is just a 15-minute drive away.

Resort amenities receive praise.

According to reports, the resort features a fair amount of both practical and entertaining amenities. Guests like that a convenience store, gas station, post office and two restaurants are located on-site. Meanwhile, the resort also offers water sport activities, an outdoor pool, spa services and hiking/biking trails, plenty to keep you busy.

First class customer service.

Many guests are impressed with the level of customer service received at the resort. Reports indicate that the staff is professional, courteous and helpful.

Negative Reviews

Some accommodations require renovation.

While some guests enjoy comfortable accommodations, others report that some chalets and hotel rooms are in need of renovation work. These outdated lodgings are said to be well-worn around the edges and somewhat dirty. There are, as of now, unsubstantiated reports that a renovation project is underway.

Wi-Fi quality draws ire of guests.

Guests looking to stay connected during their stay may be disappointed. Past guests have heavily criticized the resort’s Wi-Fi service, reporting that the signal is virtually non-existent inside of accommodations. Many guests are left to access the internet from the resort lobby.

Receding lake less impressive these days.

Although there is plenty of picturesque scenery on offer, guests report that Bass Lake itself is not as impressive as it once was. Widespread droughts in California have seen the lake recede, leaving useless jetties and browning vegetation on display.
