Positive Reviews

Lovely village location

The hotel’s location in the heart of Sedlescombe, a lovely little village, appeals to guests. They particularly like being near the village green and enjoy catching sight of the geese that sometimes live there. Guests also find the village a convenient base from which to explore the area.

Friendly and helpful staff

The staff members who work here are a credit to the hotel. Guests comment that they are made to feel very welcome and appreciate the friendly and helpful attitude displayed by the staff members.

Outstanding food

A highlight of a stay at this hotel is sampling the delicious food served in the on-site restaurant. Guests are very impressed with the quality of the food and service and are charmed by the oak panelling and Tudor beams.

Negative Reviews

Dated décor

According to feedback, guests feel that the hotel’s décor is showing signs of wear and tear in places. While there is a old-style appeal to the rooms, areas such as the bathrooms would benefit from a more modern feel.

Showers not the easiest to use

Guests mention that they are a little disappointed with the standard of showers in this hotel. They report that it can be quite difficult to get an effective shower, due in part to the short length of the shower cords.

No air conditioning.

A couple of reviews comment on the fact that there is no air conditioning available, seemingly in any of the bedrooms. Guests comment that no fans were available in bedrooms, making rooms insufferable on particularly hot days.
