Spacious rooms

A good number of guests went out of their way to say how spacious their room was, even those in the standard rooms. They certainly didn’t feel like they were being squeezed in.

Good Wi-Fi

Considering that it is something guests typically take for granted, a surprising number mentioned that the Wi-Fi was especially good. Guests seemed to have no problem connecting, and at speeds more than fast enough for their purposes.

Welcoming and friendly staff

Guests found the attitude of the staff quite refreshing, saying that they extended a warm and genuine welcome on arrival and had the sort of pleasant attitude that made them easy to approach with a question or concern.

Negative Reviews

Very noisy environment

This was perhaps the most common complaint. Guests mentioned that they could easily hear sounds from adjacent rooms, even if they weren’t loud. Noise from people walking above was said to be a particularly severe problem.

Exceptionally poor breakfast

Guests had nothing good at all to say about the complimentary breakfast, saying that it was so basic that the hotel may as well not have bothered.

No refrigerators or microwaves

There seemed to be a lot of confusion around whether a particular room should have a refrigerator and microwave in it. A number of guests were strongly under the impression that all rooms had these two amenities, perhaps because of online marketing materials. In reality only some of the rooms did, and many guests in rooms without them were very disappointed indeed.
