Handy location was relatively peaceful

Many reviewers felt this motel was a convenient base for easy access to surrounding leisure destinations like ski resorts, hiking trails and golf courses. There was praise for the location in Big Bear Lake for easy access to amenities in the center of town and the range of shops and eateries within walking distance. The lakeshore and convention center were also just a short walk away. Reviewers said it was quiet most of the time but a few light sleepers were bothered by occasional noise traveling thru thin walls from adjacent rooms.

Flexible and affordable with praise for rooms

Most of the rooms reportedly weren't fancy, but as many visitors were in town to explore the great outdoors they thought the accommodation was more than adequately clean and comfortable considering the affordable rates. The remodeled rooms with updated decor and furniture attracted the most positive reviews. The pet-friendly policy was a bonus for dog lovers bringing their pet pooches along to enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Pleasant staff

Reviewers often had praise for the customer service, describing staff at reception as friendly and helpful.

Rooms had drawbacks

There were mixed views over the comfort of the beds, which some guests found too hard for their liking. Moreover, the air-conditioning was sometimes said to be ineffective in the warmest weather.

Charges for Wi-Fi were a bind

Charges for Wi-Fi access were unpopular with guests and some reviewers thought the speeds on offer were sluggish as well.

Limited supplies

Critics sometimes thought that the provided supplies of bathroom consumables like shampoo were too limited and many disliked having to go down to reception in search of more.
