Positive Reviews

Great base from which to explore the Lake District.

The location of The Westbourne Bed and Breakfast is convenient not only for the local town of Bowness-On-Windermere, but it is fantastic for getting out and about across the wider Lake District. Bowness is full of quaint little shops, including some that

Guest house finished-off to a high standard.

This guest house has been decorated to a high standard, including fixtures and fittings, helping to provide guests with fond memories of their stay. Reassuringly, multiple reviews suggest the hotel is kept spotlessly clean too.

Negative Reviews

Need a lift?.

There is no lift at The Westbourne to help guests reach the first floor, so those with mobility problems should bear this in mind. That said, it is only a small guest house with seven rooms so it is not a cavernous building by any means.

Smallish rooms.

While the rooms are beautifully decorated and finished, some of the rooms are described as being on the small-side, including the double rooms. On the plus side, they do have high ceilings that help to keep the rooms feeling light and airy.

Water pressure can be weak in the shower.

It's only a minor quibble, but the water pressure in the showers has been described as weak at times.
