About Cressing Temple

Given as a present to the Order of the Knights Templar in 1137, the site not only contains the 2 best preserved barns of their age in the UK, but also a stone well of the same era, a Tudor Garden and several other farm buildings that have been added to the site over the centuries and findings in the area indicate, that it has already been populated during the late Bronze Age. Cressing Temple is not only an open air museum about farming, but also holds workshops and functions, such as a medieval market or concerts.
