About The Royal Albion Hotel

The Royal Albion Hotel Hotel occupies a prime seafront location in Broadstairs on the Kent coast.

Decorated using neutral colours and furnished with a touch of luxury, rooms are en-suite and include flat screen colour television, digital radio and beverage making facilities.  Many rooms at The Royal Albion also have a private balcony and sea views.

The hotel offers free parking and Wi-Fi, room service and daily room cleaning.  Outside, the large terrace opens on to a landscaped garden with views across Viking Bay.

Breakfast choices, including a buffet option, are served in the dining room.  Coffee and pastries are available throughout the day in Ballard’s Coffee Shop and later, there is an a la carte menu selection, again in the dining room.

Reputedly, once the home of Charles Dickens, the hotel combines an authentic history, dating back to 1776, with the modern day requirements of hotel guests.

Positive Reviews

Fabulous sea front location.

Weather permitting; the exterior of this hotel is a major asset. There are plenty of places to sit, relax and enjoy the well cared for garden and sea views of Viking Bay beyond.

Friendly staff and great catering.

Everyone is very friendly and keen to help you enjoy your stay. Food too is very good; breakfast is substantial and appetising. Later there’s a friendly bar and a really appealing dinner menu. Also, next door, there is a really good Italian! It’s hardly s

Childhood holidays revisited.

Unhurried hotel service, cheerful staff, not over priced, free parking and it’s all in this charming little seaside town. Of course it’s changed over the years but not as much as many, so the whole experience brings back memories of childhood holidays by

Negative Reviews

‘Too darned hot’.

Rooms have a tendency to get unpleasantly hot; not helped by a lack of windows that actually open.

Barking parking mad.

On arrival, you can’t stop outside the hotel. Instead you go the public car park a few hundred yards away, pay of course, tramp back to the hotel carrying luggage, get a voucher from reception then – you’ve guessed it! – go back to the car with said vouch

Inconvenient guests.

Reception staff are are seen chatting amongst themselves in full knowledge that arriving guests are waiting to check in! Ultimately, there is much about the hotel that is fine, but they go out of their way to ensure that the first impression is a bad one.
